SAMBAYANIHAN

TSPI-MBAI MEMBERS’ BENEFIT PROGRAM

PARTNERSHIP WITH TULAY SA PAG-UNLAD, INC. (A MICROFINANCE NGO) AND TSPI MUTUAL BENEFIT ASSOCIATION, INC

Sambayanihan is the Member’s Benefit Program of TSPI MBAI. The Board appropriates yearly funding for our Sambayanihan Program in compliance with IC regulation.

Sambayanihan is a combination of the words “Samba” “Bayan” and “Anihan”.  It is coined to refer to MBAI’s members benefit program, as briefly explained below:

Samba – accentuates that serving others is a God-given mission
Bayan and Anihan – describes the community activities that will benefit MBA members. It is a way of giving back to our clients through community services and gives opportunity to staff and members to “demonstrate love and service in their community”, which is TSPI MBAIs’ mission.

“SAMBA”
We worship God in all we do!
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

“BAYAN”
We are chosen and called to God’s kingdom!
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ …” Philippians 3:20

“ANIHAN”
We will harvest with songs of joy!
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38

OBJECTIVES

Sambayanihan Program aims for the following:

a. To provide social services program to TSPI members
                 • TSPI’s services to its members goes beyond the insurance benefits. It also allocates resources to serve its members through values formation, enterprise training and development, health and sanitation programs, and provide disaster and medical assistance.

b. To promote the social service element of the SSR (sama-samang responsibilidad) principle.
                 • SSR is one of the key principles of the TSPI microfinance program. It refers to the joint responsibility of members for each others’ growth and overall welfare. The SSR spirit is beyond financial support but more about serving others and working together to meet social and spiritual needs of members, their families and their communities.

c. To support and empower the staff and member leaders to work together to serve the members, their households and their communities.
                 • Branch and member leaders will jointly identify and organize community activities that can best serve the needs of the members in their area based on the activities funded under the Sambayanihan Program.
